Snowshoeing is an amazing activity for all ages. This family friendly sport is inexpensive and fun to do. Snowshoeing allows you to quietly walk through the woods and experience nature all around you.
Take the day off and come experience all that our bike trail systems have to offer. From the paved trail systems to the Winman off road trails, this activity is fun for everyone. There are also E-bikes to rent right in the heart of downtown Manitowish Waters, WI.
Saddle up your horses, there is a trail to blaze! The Equestrian trail system in Vilas County has over 16 miles of equestrian trails with three loops for riders of all experience levels.
The Torch Lake Equestrian Loop, Ski Hill Equestrian Loop, and Pioneer Creek Equestrian Loop are accessed via connector trails.

With more than 1,300 lakes and 73 rivers and streams, Vilas County has plenty of opportunities for paddling trips. Take a canoe or kayak trip down one of the rivers or explore miles of water on the many lake chains. Spend an afternoon paddling your kayak or take a weeklong canoe trip.

Northern Wisconsin is a fertile hunting ground, and the vast expanses of wilderness in Vilas County make it an ideal destination for hunters, whether they’re going after deer, grouse or other game. Hunters will find large swaths of land open to hunting in Vilas County.
Reminder: all hunters born on or after Jan. 1, 1973 must pass a hunter safety course, and all hunters must have a valid hunting license.(vilaswi.org)
